  • Assists with light calibration, setup, and maintenance operations.

Job Description

Maintains surface equipment working, clears errors from equipment, and ensures cleanliness and proper operation of assigned equipment.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains assigned equipment operational
  • Clears errors from equipment and restarts equipment
  • Ensures equipment has all necessary consumables loaded for operation (alloy, blocks, pads, polish, etc.)
  • Ensures equipment is kept clean during the shift
  • Takes part of scheduled equipment clean up
  • Informs management of equipment malfunction
  • Informs management of quality issues
  • Informs management of any equipment issues
  • Keeps area clean
  • Helps in other areas when needed
  • Assists with light calibration, setup, and maintenance operations
  • Records data accurately from equipment or process as requested by management
  • Cross-trains on tasks from other areas of the lab
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Safety Requirements
  • Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program
  • Closed toe shoes required
  • Proper ergonomics when lifting
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Work environment noise level is usually loud
  • Must wear safety glasses; other PPE might be required based on operations
