Job description

Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Seasoning Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Hanover, PA at our 900 High St facility on Weekend Night Shift. This is a great opportunity to step into a hands-on role with a trusted company that's been making quality snacks for generations!

As a Seasonal Seasoner, you'll play an important role in making sure our snacks are perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. You'll be responsible for operating and monitoring seasoning equipment, inspecting product quality, keeping detailed logs, and helping with sanitation efforts to keep our equipment and workspaces safe and clean. This position works Friday - Sunday from 5:55 PM to 5:55 AM.

Essential Functions

• Stacks boxes of seasoning from warehouse on skids.


• Places skid on platform of packaging machine using tow motor.


• Fills dispenser on packaging machine with seasoning from boxes on platform.


• Tastes and visually inspects chips to ensure proper seasoning.


• Monitors and adjusts flow rate to insure product quality of chips going into packaging machine.


• Required to assemble and tear down seasoning equipment at beginning and end of production run.


• Calculates amount of seasoning used daily and maintains comprehensive seasoning log. Enters seasoning totals into program daily. Keeps running total of seasoning inventory above on seasoning platform.


• Must be able to understand the D365 entry system and complete any electronic documentation.


• Carries tubs filled with seasoned chips from bad bags up ladder to platform and empties them into packaging machine.


• Must be aware of allergen segregation and documentation.


• Must be able to work from an elevated surface.


• Cleans platform of boxes.


• Participates in all sanitation activities in order to maintain, clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities used for the processing and packaging of food products


• Uses air wands, high pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers to maintain all surfaces and equipment


• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.


• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Requires general knowledge of procedures for cleaning food handling equipment.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


• Care and diligence in working with very expensive equipment with due attentiveness to detail.


• Able to work with basic chemicals, water, and water hoses.


• Able to wear all required PPE.
