Description

Chautauqua Health & Fitness Center is a year-round fitness facility inside the Turner Community Center. It offers memberships, exercise classes, personal training, and swim lessons. Summer hours are weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The indoor pool operates during summer with weekday hours from early morning to mid-day and early afternoon to early evening, with weekend hours also available.

Compensation

Starting at $15.50/hour, with potential to earn up to $16.50/hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Responsibilities
  • Open and close the facility, inspect equipment and areas.
  • Greet patrons professionally and answer inquiries.
  • Provide information on services, pricing, events, and merchandise.
  • Manage check-ins, class attendance, and lessons.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with facility rules.
  • Process transactions using a computerized cash register, including sales, refunds, and payments.
  • Maintain accurate sales records.
  • Assist gym members and keep patron information confidential.
  • Perform cleaning duties.
  • Handle interest forms and conduct facility tours if needed.
  • Assist lifeguard staff and respond to emergencies according to procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe work environment.
  • Report safety issues promptly and document duties accurately.
Referral Program

Receive a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for successful hires who remain employed for at least 90 days (or 30 days for seasonal positions).

Work Schedule

Flexible full and part-time options available, mainly during summer, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts are 4-8 hours, starting between 6:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., with at least one weekend shift required weekly.

Housing

Limited housing options may be available on grounds or assistance in finding nearby housing. However, housing is not guaranteed or provided for most positions.
