Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Slitter Operator for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 12:00 AM, Mon–Thu) in Orwigsburg, PA. Base pay is $19.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential.

Training on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) for two weeks will occur before transitioning to the 2nd shift. You will operate metal slitter and rollformers to produce metal roof trim pieces, inspect products for defects, enter production quantities, and move materials with a forklift.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Operate a metal slitter and rollformer to produce metal roof trim pieces.
• Visually inspect trims against specifications to ensure defect-free product.
• Enter production quantities into computer system and maintain records.
• Operate a forklift for moving coil to and from a mandrel.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; assist other departments as needed.

Job Description

2nd Shift Hours: 2:00PM - 12:00AM, Monday - Thursday

Base Pay is $19.00 per hour + $1.00 shift differential

Training will occur on 1st Shift (6:00AM - 2:00PM) for 2 weeks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A Slitter Operator is one of the key members of our production team. Daily responsibilities include safely operating a metal slitter, rollformers and forklifts. The finished product is quality metal roofing and wall panels.

You will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Operating a Metal Slitter to produce metal roof trim pieces.
• Checking and visually inspecting produced trims against specifications to ensure a defect free product has been produced
• Operating rollformer producing custom trim parts
• Entering production quantities for each order into computer system
• Operating a forklift for moving of coil to and from a mandrel.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to work independently and with others
• High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to read, hear, talk, drive lift trucks, wear PPE, and lift up to 65 lbs. repetitively
• Must be able to stand or walk approximately 7 ½ hours minimum per work shift
• Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months
• Noise level is moderate to loud
