Job summary

West Fraser is hiring an entry-level Machine Operator Trainee at our Arkansas facility. You will support production by operating light and heavy machinery, keeping work areas clean, and progressively qualifying on multiple machine centers across the plant.

The role emphasizes safety, outdoor work in all temperatures, and the ability to rotate shifts including holidays and weekends. No direct experience is required, and on-the-job training is provided to develop skills and advance within the

Qualifications

  • No direct experience needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures in loud, high-volume environments performing physical tasks.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position including walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow West Fraser safety policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe work areas, collect debris, and dispose of sawdust and dropped lumber in assigned areas.
  • Clean industrial equipment and workstations.
  • Relieve production positions; operate various light and heavy industrial machinery.
  • Progressively qualify on machine centers to work throughout the facility.
  • Show flexibility to perform various daily tasks as needed.
  • Support our safety-focused culture by adhering to mill safety policies.

Our Machine Operator Trainee is an entry-level role with the expectation that self-motivated individuals will advance into progressively skilled positions.

What you will do:

  • Maintaining safe work areas, collecting debris, and disposing of sawdust and dropped lumber in assigned areas
  • Cleaning industrial equipment and workstations
  • Relieving production positions; operating various light and heavy industrial machinery
  • Progressively qualifying on numerous machine centers towork throughout the facility
  • Showing a willingness and flexibility to perform various job assignments that may change daily
  • Supporting our culture of safety by adhering to mill safety policies and procedures at all times

What you need to be successful:

  • No direct experience needed
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures in loud, high-volume environments performing physical tasks throughout the shift
