Job summary

TSG - The Sheridan Group in Minnesota is hiring for a first shift bindery operator. You’ll learn to operate high‑speed bindery equipment, set up cutters, folders, stitchers and perfect binders, with training provided. This is a hands‑on role that emphasizes quality and reliability.

Work Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, with potential overtime. You’ll be part of a team that hits daily production goals, ensures quality, and adheres to safety procedures in a factory environment, including lifting up

Qualifications

• No bindery experience required; training provided.
• Must be 18+ and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Comfort with basic tools and mechanical tasks.
• Ability to read job instructions and measurements.

This is a 1st shift position - working Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 3PM with potential for overtime hours.

What You’ll Do

• Learn to operate and set up bindery equipment (cutters, folders, stitchers, and perfect binders.)
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.

On your feet for most of the shift

Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
