Job Description

The Machine Operator (Plasma and Laser) safely performs responsibilities aligned with Olympic Steel's Core Values to ensure productivity and quality while following all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include setting up and operating automatic leveling, sheeting, and console-operated equipment to level, cut, and stack flat sheets of various gauges according to customer requirements, based on customer orders, engineered layouts, and instructions.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production-oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• Knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under general supervision.
• Detail-oriented, capable of inspecting materials for quality conformance using measuring devices and drawings.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs preferred.
• Experience with precision instruments is a plus.
