Job Description:

The Machine Operator safely performs responsibilities specific to the position, aligning with Olympic Steel's Core Values to ensure high productivity and quality while following all company policies and procedures. This role involves setting up and operating automatic leveling, sheeting, and console-operated equipment to level, cut, and stack flat sheets of various gauges according to customer requirements, working from customer orders, engineered layouts, and general instructions.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production-oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• Knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Detail-oriented, capable of inspecting materials for quality using measuring devices and drawings.
• Basic knowledge of computer programs preferred.
• Previous experience with precision instruments is a plus.
