Job Overview:

This position is responsible for operating one or more Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines in the production of high-precision small parts and cutting instruments. Responsibilities include setting up the machines, creating part profiles and shapes, placing specific features, and cutting or sharpening instrument teeth to meet final specifications. The role may require working mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends according to business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read prints and job orders to determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and quantity, as well as tooling instructions like grinding speeds, feed rates, fixtures, and wheels.
2. Operate precision CNC machines to produce parts that meet required dimensions.
3. Inspect and measure parts to ensure specifications are achieved.
4. Maintain job routing information and complete sign-offs as required.
5. Perform other related production tasks as needed.
6. Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts in coordination with maintenance personnel.
7. Inform the next shift operator about production status.
8. Keep the work area clean and free of oil and residues.
9. Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Experience:

• One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College or technical school certificate specific to CNC Machine Operation is a plus.
• Experience with Amada Laser is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Ability to read, understand, and follow standard procedures and work instructions.
• Intermediate mechanical skills required.
• Intermediate math and logic skills required.
• Intermediate computer skills and software experience required.

Travel / Physical Demands:

• Travel is typically not required.
• The position is in a manufacturing environment with stable conditions but may involve exposure to noise.
• Requires sitting or standing for extended periods, using hands to operate machinery, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
• Use of eye protection is mandatory at all times while working.
