Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator II to run moderately complex machinery on the manufacturing floor and support efficient production processes. You will work with bridging machines, saws and other equipment, perform routine maintenance, and adhere to safety rules in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

The Machine Operator II is responsible for operating moderately complex machinery in a manufacturing environment to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor production output and quality to meet specifications.
• Operate overhead cranes for efficient material handling.
• Operate a variety of machinery, including but not limited to, bridging machines, saws, channel shears, angle shears, crimpers, and end bar benders.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment as required.
• Lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

Anticipated Pay Range

$20.00

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in Canam Steel Corp (CSC)'s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, (plus additional voluntary benefits) and 401K (with employer match).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform all job functions of Machine Operator I.
• 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Valid crane certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required
