You will troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, operate cranes and other equipment, and perform general maintenance. A high school diploma and 3+ years of maintenance experience are required.

New employees can earn $80K in total compensationwhen working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.
There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance
welders.
• Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance
• Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or
shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
• At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabricating preferred.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives
• Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
• Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery in a
manufacturing environment.
• Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
• Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
• Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Standing for most of the shift, walking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required.
