Job summary

G&W Electric seeks a Machine Operator I to set up and operate one or two pieces of manufacturing equipment in a medium-to-high complexity environment at our Bolingbrook facility. You will read and interpret instructions, safely use tools, and document actions while sustaining a clean, productive workspace.

You will contribute to the team by training others as needed and maintaining compliance with safety and quality procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret work instructions and communicate with supervisor.
• Ability to operate a variety of machinery.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate one-two pieces of manufacturing machinery of moderate complexity.
• Dispose of hazardous chemicals properly.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Contribute to team by training others in machine operator tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work for defects before passing to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
