Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Bolingbrook, IL, is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate one-two pieces of manufacturing machinery of moderate complexity.

You will follow instructions, maintain a safe, clean work area, and contribute to the team by training others and inspecting work for defects as needed. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 6+ months in manufacturing, with ability to read instructions and operate various machines.

Qualifications

• Has a High School diploma or GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• Ideally has 6+ months of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Is able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Must be able to read and interpret work instructions and communicate with supervisor about processes.
• Must have ability to operate a variety of machinery.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery using hand tools as necessary.
• Dispose of hazardous chemicals properly.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Contribute to team effort by training others in machine operator tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work for defects prior to passing it on to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
