Job summary

Dawn Foods Ltd. is seeking a Machine Operator I for the Day Shift at the Jackson Manufacturing Plant. You will work with raw materials to complete a mix formula, prepare batches, and package products for shipping, ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires reading instructions, teamwork, and basic arithmetic; forklift certification is a plus. We offer competitive pay, 401(k) with match, holidays, PTO, and training in a family-owned company with a long history.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read safety rules and operate instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products meet specifications, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards per GMPs, AIB, IFS, HACCP.
• Operate computer systems used in production processes.
• Run auxiliary equipment as needed for each function.
• Follow safety instructions and batch card procedures to ensure quality.
• Use barcode scanners to document raw materials and finished goods.
• Prepare SSOPs and GMP documentation and counts.
• Communicate quality, safety, scheduling issues to lead/supervisor.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Support food defense and security in the facility.
