DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate 4 (PA4) is a training position through which Associates may advance to the Production Associate 5 (PA5) position. Through this training position, associates will learn to operate extrusion lines and produce vinyl siding products and accessories, ensuring that extruder outputs are consistent with product specifications and that quality assurance standards are maintained by inspecting finished products for consistency.

Associates must be in the PA4 position for a minimum of 6 months and pass proficiency tests to be eligible for promotion to PA5. Those unable to pass within 12 months will be demoted back to their previous position.

1. Learn to verify operational status of all equipment on assigned line according to start-up checklists.
2. Maintain extruder and peripheral line equipment settings to produce outputs that meet product specifications.
3. Perform quality assurance duties, including conducting tests on finished products to ensure quality within established ranges.
4. Notify supervisors of deviations for prompt correction.
5. Communicate with Maintenance and Shift Supervisors about machine malfunctions.
6. Assist with troubleshooting operational problems and equipment adjustments.
7. Conduct line checks for product consistency, including measurements like thickness, width, length, etc.
8. Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the work area.
9. Monitor and assist other Production Associates to ensure product quality.
10. Relieve other line associates during breaks.
11. Share knowledge and communicate effectively across shifts.
12. Complete all operational and quality assurance paperwork accurately.
13. Adhere to production schedules and quality specifications.
14. Perform pre-start equipment checks.
15. Maintain supplies and assist with equipment maintenance.
16. Participate in safety programs and report unsafe conditions.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum six months of related or production experience.
• Ability to perform functions of lower-level Production Associate roles.
• Good mechanical and math skills, with the ability to interpret test equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and safety consciousness.
• Ability to lift up to 86 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
