Machine Operator

OVERVIEW

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an integrated battery metals company leveraging new technologies to increase domestic US production of battery metals through recycling, extraction, and proprietary refining. Our goal is to support the transition to a circular low-carbon energy economy by returning materials to the manufacturing supply chain.

ABOUT THE JOB

ABTC’s Machine Operator will collaborate with engineering, EHS, Operations, Production, and R&D to scale up production at our Pilot Plant. The ideal candidate has industrial manufacturing experience with hands-on equipment operation. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining process equipment to support production. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career within an innovative team. This position is for our 2nd shift and reports to the shift supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and operate various machines throughout the shift.
• Assist with the movement of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
• Use the ERP system to execute jobs and record production data.
• Report mechanical issues and failures to management and maintenance via work orders.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with SOPs and work instructions.
• Report daily machine production accurately.
• Read and interpret manufacturing orders to meet specifications.
• Perform changeovers in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Work overtime as needed to cover shifts and meet production demands.

Management reserves the right to revise duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of machine operation experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions in English.
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of chemical plant operations.
• 2-year degree (AA or AS) in applied technology or related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Stand for up to 6 hours; walk throughout the plant.
• Bend at the waist; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and assist with heavier weights.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Wear PPE including eye/face protection, hearing protection, respirators, and safety shoes.
• Must have 20/20 vision (corrected) and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Work environment may include noise, dust, and chemicals.
• Must pass medical clearance and be able to wear a respirator for extended periods.
• Handling nickel-containing materials; candidates must not have a nickel allergy.

LOCATION

On-site at Plant NV

JOB TYPE

Full-Time, Non-Exempt, hourly rate $20.00–$23.00, with shift differential for night shifts.
