Job summary

Aventure Staffing seeks a 1st & 2nd shift Machine Operator in Spencer, IA. You will set up and run equipment such as press brakes and other fabrication machines, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality is checked throughout production. You’ll follow blueprints, read specifications, and use measuring tools, with overtime as required.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, ability to read a tape measure to 1/16

Qualifications

  • Experience using basic computer tools for typing, printing, and data entry.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division accurately.
  • Familiarity with reading and following detailed work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines by setting up orders according to customer specifications and prepare tools.
  • Fabrication equipment may include brake presses, laser, CNC machines, saws, routers, etc.
  • Perform quality checks by inspecting first articles and during production to ensure correct parts.
  • Enter production metrics into a computer system to track production rates, quality, maintenance, and downtime.
  • Communicate equipment issues promptly and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
  • Train and guide others within skilled areas and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Follow plant safety processes and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

1st & 2nd Shift Machine Operator Needed! $19/hr Monday -Thursday

You’ll set up and run equipment such as press brakes and other fabrication machines, make sure parts are made correctly, and check your work for quality. You’ll work with a team, follow safety procedures, read basic blueprints or specifications, and use measuring tools to make sure everything is the right size. Experience working with metal, machinery, or press brakes is helpful.

Responsibilities
  • Operate machine by setting up orders according to customer specifications, following order readiness process of efficiently preparing the right tools to complete the job.
  • Fabrication equipment could include: (eg: brake presses, laser, coil presses, panel bender, CNC machines, saws, routers, etc.).
  • Perform quality checks by inspecting a first article, and articles throughout the order to identify errors, ensuring quality product along with monitoring equipment and raw materials.
  • Enter production metrics into a computer electronic system to accurately track progress of production rates, quality, maintenance, and downtime.
  • Proactively communicate issues with equipment to appropriate leaders, trouble shoot issues, and problem solve individually and as a team to maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Train and guide others within their skilled areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for the machine center.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous experience with computer using skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
  • Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Previous experience reading and completing detailed work instructions.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience with reading a tape measure to within 1/16" measurement.
