Job summary

Klöckner & Co SE is seeking a 2nd shift press brake operator in Charlotte, NC to set up, operate, and program a press brake with a focus on safety and quality. The role emphasizes instruction following, basic math, and reliable performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform equipment changes, inspect first-piece and in-process parts, train teammates, and maintain accurate production data while ensuring a clean, compliant workspace. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and perform basic math for measurements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of measuring devices and basic documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare production equipment for operation and assist with changeovers.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure quality.
  • Assist in training others on procedures and best practices.
  • Operate press brake, troubleshoot, adjust settings, and report data.
  • Maintain production operations and manage materials and finished goods.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and document repairs as needed.
  • Uphold safety and cleanliness in the work area and follow regulations.
  • Collaborate with team and adapt to supervisor directions.
  • Perform additional duties to support production goals.

Job description

Processes quality products safely and efficiently by setting up, operating and performing simple programming of a press brake.

  • 2nd Shift Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare production equipment for operation by making necessary setup adjustments and assisting with equipment changeovers.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain quality standards and customer specifications by conducting first-piece and in-process inspections, completing production control charts, analyzing data, and making equipment adjustments as needed
  • Training: Assist in training others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures and best practices.
  • Machine Operation: Solve production process problems, make equipment adjustments, and report production and quality data. Communicate decisions made and refer questions to the supervisor as necessary
  • Operational Maintenance: Follow policies and procedures to maintain production operations, including managing equipment, raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. Report needed changes
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure the proper operation of equipment by adhering to preventative maintenance policies and procedures. Report needed changes and repairs
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the team effort by achieving related results, cooperating with team members, and accepting re-assignments as directed by supervisors
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and team objectives
