Responsibilities

  • Prepares production equipment for operation by making setup adjustments and/or assisting a setup operator.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
  • Maintains quality standard specifications by conducting first-piece inspections, periodic inspections, and completing production control charts.
  • Helps train others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures.
  • Maintains machine operation by solving production process problems; making authorized equipment adjustments; and reporting production and quality data.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures and timely reporting of needed changes and repairs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through team assist and re-assignments.
  • Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
  • Meets established production standards for the department.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties or functions as requested by management.
