Job summary

Kloeckner in Charlotte, NC is seeking a press brake operator for 2nd shift to set up, operate and lightly program a press brake to produce quality parts. You will prepare production equipment, perform first-piece and in-process inspections, and document data.

You will collaborate with the team to maintain safety and cleanliness, follow procedures, and support continuous improvement through routine maintenance and training of peers.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and use basic math for measurements and calculations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of using measuring devices.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
  • Demonstrated reliable work history.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare production equipment for operation by making necessary setup adjustments and assisting with equipment changeovers.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain quality standards and customer specifications by conducting first-piece and in-process inspections, completing production control charts, analyzing data, and making equipment adjustments as needed
  • Training: Assist in training others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures and best practices.
  • Machine Operation: Solve production process problems, make equipment adjustments, and report production and quality data. Communicate decisions made and refer questions to the supervisor as necessary
  • Operational Maintenance: Follow policies and procedures to maintain production operations, including managing equipment, raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. Report needed changes
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure the proper operation of equipment by adhering to preventative maintenance policies and procedures. Report needed changes and repairs
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the team effort by achieving related results, cooperating with team members, and accepting re-assignments as directed by supervisors
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and team objectives

Job description

  • 2nd Shift Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.
