The Finishing Machine Operator (Folding Gluer Machine Operator) performs a variety of duties to set up and operate machines used in the post-print label finishing process. Experience is not required but is always a bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and ensure efficient operation of assigned cartons.
• Set production speeds for each job to maximize machine capabilities; notify team lead if additional help is needed.
• Use correct adhesives and report any issues such as fiber tear or glue voids to the team lead.
• Inspect cartons during runs to verify adhesion, pre-break, and alignment quality.
• Monitor adhesive application for proper placement, adhesion, and quantity.
• Check printed cartons to ensure print quality and absence of ink rub or offsetting.
• Ensure the packer has sufficient cases to maintain productivity.
• Feed and stack cartons properly during runs for maximum efficiency.
• Assist in training other employees to take over operator duties when necessary.
• Maintain quality, productivity, and waste minimization.
• Verify correct count and packing methods on all jobs.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork promptly.
• Ensure labels are correct according to the Job Ticket.
• Use mechanical and non-mechanical floor jacks to move skids into place.
• Follow all company policies, GMP, safety standards, BRC standards, and PPE requirements.

Qualifications:

• 1 to 2 years of experience in various cutting operations is preferable.
• Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to understand and follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions; problem-solving skills involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
