Brief Description

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of thermoplastic extrusion equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports dry or liquid materials to produce customer products.

Work Schedule

2nd Shift: 3-11pm M-F with overtime as needed, including weekends on an A/B rotating schedule which may include Saturday and/or Sunday work. Note: Days 1-2 are typically from 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, start, and operate machinery to ensure continuous strands of material, adhering to safety and ISO standards.
  • Weigh ingredients and ensure correct delivery to machinery, or insert pre-blended materials.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Examine materials for conformance and transfer samples for evaluation.
  • Package finished materials and document work and system inputs.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement processes.
  • Follow safety and work rules, maintain cleanliness, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow procedures, and adhere to safety standards.
  • Operate and monitor machinery, lift up to 60 lbs., and stand for long periods.
  • Read manuals, maintain a clean workspace, and have dependable attendance.
  • Work overtime and in temperature extremes; pass forklift and respirator fit tests; communicate in English.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift experience and manufacturing background preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Stand, walk, handle objects, and use safety equipment regularly.
  • Lift/move up to 60 lbs., work in temperature extremes, and handle dust, fumes, or airborne particles.

Must have specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
