Job summary

Volt in Winnemucca, NV is hiring a Machine Operator to handle pipe fabrication, setup, and quality control in a full-time role. You will operate band saws, Landis machines, and other equipment, while following OSHA guidelines and maintaining accurate measurements throughout the fabrication process.

The position requires 6-8 months of related machinery experience, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 6-8 months experience in machinery, band saws, or machine operation/assembly.
• Experience in using tape measures and gauges for quality checks.
• 6-8 months experience in mechanical background.

Responsibilities

• Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.
• Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and procedures.
• Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
• Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines; inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

Job responsibilities

• Be moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Be assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies.
• Be following safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Be operating powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and procedures.
• Be setting up and maintaining machines for pipe fabrication.
• Be measuring, recording, and adding random pipe lengths accurately.
• Be measuring and cutting pipe using band saws or torches.
• Be threading and bevelling pipe using Landis machines, inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.

This is a full-time contract opportunity.

Requirements

• 6-8 months experience in machinery, band saws, or machine operation/assembly
• Experience in using tape measures and gauges for quality checks.
• 6-8 months experience in mechanical background

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• 6-8 months experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
• Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication.
• Proficiency in computer skills for automated machinery.
• Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe.

Pay

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
