Matern Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator at a wall barrier engineering and manufacturing facility in Spotsylvania, Va. The Machine Operator runs the machine that processes wire materials used in fencing production.

As a Machine Operator, your mechanical skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality help produce unique security solutions for the government, commercial, and private customers.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
• Experience with wire, fencing, fabrication or industrial equipment is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read measurements and follow production specifications.
• Comfortable around machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to stand, lift, bend and work through the shift.
• Dependable with strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wire processing and fencing production machinery.
• Load wire materials into machines and ensure proper setup for production runs.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Monitor machine performance and report operational or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain production targets and efficiency goals.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and machine adjustments as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

• $19/hr

Schedule:

• Training will be on first shift Monday thru Friday, 7am-4pm and then the position transitions to second shift

What You'll Do:

• Operate and monitor wire processing and fencing production machinery
• Load wire materials into machines and ensure proper setup for production runs
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
• Monitor machine performance and report operational or maintenance concerns
• Maintain production targets and efficiency goals
• Perform basic troubleshooting and machine adjustments as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

What You'll Need:

• Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
• Experience working with wire, fencing, fabrication, or industrial equipment is a plus
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
• Ability to read measurements and follow production specifications
• Comfortable working around machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work throughout the shift
• Dependable with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
