Aerotek is seeking a Machine Operator in Portland, OR for a contract-to-hire role. You will operate a chopping machine to cut metal pieces, load and unload products, and prepare items for shipment in an industrial setting.

Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

Engage in material handling and machine operation within a metals recycling environment. Load raw metal pieces into a chopping machine to cut and form them into small, rounded pieces for sale to manufacturing companies. Offload the finished product from the machine and prepare it for shipping. Maintain machinery by lubricating, performing blade maintenance, and changing fluids.

Work Environment

Work the first shift, Monday-Friday, with hours from 10am-6:30pm Monday-Thursday, and 6am-2:30pm on Fridays. Occasionally, you may be asked to start earlier on Fridays at 5:30am when needed, and you will finish earlier on those days. The environment is industrial with a strong focus on safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
