Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for Machine Operators in Sussex County, DE. This contract-to-hire role requires operating press brakes and CNC laser machines, with cross-training on additional production equipment. You will set up, adjust controls, read orders and inspect finished parts for quality.

The position is fully onsite in Harrington, DE, offering full benefits and a stable team environment. Prior machining experience is preferred but training is available for hands-on learners.

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team. This role will operate press brakes, CNC laser machines, and perform general labor tasks with the opportunity to be cross‑trained on a variety of other production equipment. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor press brakes and CNC laser machines to cut materials to precise specifications.
• Set up machines, adjust controls, and ensure proper machine operation.
• Read and interpret job orders, blueprints, or work instructions.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on machinery.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist with operating other production equipment as part of cross‑training.
• Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving ability.
• Basic math skills, including measurements, conversions, and tolerances.
• Ability to read and understand production or machine instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience operating industrial or manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Experience with press brakes, CNC equipment is a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to learn and be trained on multiple machines.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
