Job summary

Kelly is seeking a Machine Operator - Laser to join our premier manufacturing client in Charleston, SC. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will read 2D prints and work with production leads to meet targets, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following environmental policies. This is a first-shift opportunity with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years CNC programming experience.
  • Ability to read 2D prints and 3D models.
  • Knowledge of speeds/feeds and tooling setups.
  • Experience using measurement instruments for part verification.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment (Amada press brake preferred) and related machines.
  • Coordinate with production leads to meet targets.
  • Inspect parts using basic measurement instruments for quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in collaboration with QA/HSE teams.
  • Follow safety and environmental policies to uphold standards.

What’s a typical day as Machine Operator - Laser? You’ll be:
  • Programming, setting up, and operating CNC Press Brake (preferably Amada), gantry style vertical mill, and/or CNC Punch Press/Laser
  • Communicating effectively with production leads to ensure smooth workflow and production targets are met
  • Inspecting production parts to verify quality using basic measurement instruments
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in collaboration with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety teams
  • Upholding operational and regulatory standards by following safety and environmental policies
This Job Might Be An Outstanding Fit If You
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in CNC programming and setup
  • Are able to read and interpret 2D prints, 3D models, and work instructions
  • Possess knowledge of cutting tools, speeds/feeds, CAT40 tooling setup, and related processes
  • Are skilled in using measurement instruments to verify part requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and time management skills
