Job summary

Kelly is seeking a CNC Swiss Machinist in Longwood, FL for a temporary-to-permanent role. You will operate lathes, interpret drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances using gauges and calipers.

The position runs 1st shift, with pay between $25.00 and $32.00 per hour, based on experience. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of CNC Swiss Programmer experience, strong measurement skills, and the ability to work independently while upholding AS9100 quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CNC Swiss Programmer experience.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with measuring tools and gauges.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and M/G code.
• Turn on, set up and operate lathes with minimal assistance.
• Self-sufficient with strong math/calculation ability.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift 30 lbs.
• AS9100 awareness and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials.
• Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerances.
• Reduce setup and machining time through improvements.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.
• Clean and perform daily preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Organize and maintain machine shop workspace.
• Follow AS9100 requirements and safety procedures.
• Provide feedback for process improvements.
• Train newer employees on processes and tools.
• Perform geometry, tool wear offsets and program edits.
• Comply with quality policies and instructions.
• Track job progress daily in writing and electronic formats.

$25.00 - $32.00/ hour or more based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials.
• Proficiently use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements, as well as other hand tools and cutting tools.
• Reduce set up time and machining time through process improvements.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc.
• Clean and perform daily/preventative maintenance of company equipment.
• Assist in organization and maintenance of Machine Shop work environment.
• Utilize and abide by AS9100 requirements and safety procedures.
• Provide feedback and input for process improvement.
• Clear understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures in order to train newer employees/co-workers.
• Perform geometry, tool wear offsets and program edits.
• Comply with all quality policies and instructions.
• Track/record job progress and deficiencies daily in both written and electronic formats.

Qualifications / Requirements

• 3-5 years of CNC Swiss Programmer experience.
• Proficient at reading and understand mechanical drawings.
• Proficient understanding of and ability to accurately use measuring tools.
• Must have proficient knowledge of various CNC controls and M and G code.
• Ability to turn on, set up and operate lathes with minimal assistance.
• Must be self-sufficient.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must have keen attention to detail and quality.
• Must be able to bend, stoop and reach.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Desired Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent vocational training.
• Related military experience.
• Willingness to work varied shifts to support surge activities.
