Job summary

Volt in Ashland, VA is hiring a Machine Operator to support pipe fabrication operations. You will move, assemble, and measure pipe, set up and run machines, and ensure safe, accurate cutting, threading, beveling, and inspection of pipe components.

MOVE FORWARD WITH VOLTVolt is immediately hiring for a Machine Operator in Ashland, VA

As a Machine Operator, you will:

• Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.
• Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
• Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.
• Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

This is a full-time contract opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
• Using and understanding tape measures and gauges for quality checks.
• Experience in mechanical background.
• Knowledge of computer skills for automated machinery.
• Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication.
• Experience in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment.

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
