Job summary

Novolex in Jackson, TN is seeking a skilled Machine Technician to supervise machine operators on second and third shifts. You will oversee production lines, coordinate changeovers, and ensure safety and quality standards are met on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2-5 years Machine Operator experience.
• Effective listening, speaking & writing ability.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to complete routine reports and records.
• Ability to perform basic math and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first line supervisor for Machine Operators and Utility personnel.
• Assign employees to production lines and ensure machines run on schedule and at production speed.
• Monitor bags and take hourly samples to inspect quality and catch defects.
• Assist in machine changeovers and ensure timely completion.
• Clean and repair machines as needed.
• Enforce GMP and Food Safety Practices and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Submit accurate production reports daily.
• Schedule breaks and relief for workers as needed.
• Evaluate employee performance and administer counseling or disciplinary action as required.
• Train new employees or assign trainers.
