Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s leading HVAC company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Owatonna, MN. Under limited supervision, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair site machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

The role involves PLC/PLC-like controls, VFDs, HMIs, and collaboration with operators for root-cause analysis. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, manufacturing experience, and the ability to obtain PIT and First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing experience is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain PIT certification.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Adjust devices and replace defective components.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and related controls.
• Diagnose breakdowns with operators and determine root causes.
• Test equipment, troubleshoot electrical issues, and document repairs.
• Collaborate with contractors and outside reps as needed.

Location:Owatonna, MN

Shift: Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pm

What you will do:

• Performs preventive maintenance onequipment
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments and replaces/repairs defective components orequipment
• Performs work involving programmable logic controllers (PLC's), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), Human Interface Modules (HMI's), etc.
• May have to work with equipment operators to diagnose equipment breakdowns, and todeterminerootcause
• Tests faulty equipment, performs basic electrical troubleshooting, and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronics and equipment to diagnose the cause of themalfunction
• Trains with contractors or outside equipment representatives asneeded
• Submits purchase order requisitions forparts
• Maintains records of repairs and work orderscompleted
• Moves and sets up workstations/offices
• Troubleshoots and repairs minor maintenance problems involving facility, electrical, andplumbing
• Participates as part of the emergency response team.
• Mayassistoutside emergency responseteams
• May provide work training to less experienced maintenancestaff
• Observes and complies with Company safety procedures at alltimes

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previousmanufacturing experience.
• Must be able to obtain andmaintaina Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
• Must be able to obtain andmaintaina First Aid certification.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from 31.73 - 52.29 in Minnesota. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the jobgradewhich this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
