Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep site machinery in good repair under limited supervision. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to diagnose issues.

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, manufacturing experience, and certifications in PIT and First Aid. The role offers medical/dental/vision coverage, PTO, a 401(k) match, and opportunities for growth

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments and replaces/repairs defective components or equipment.
• Works with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and related control systems.
• Diagnoses equipment issues with operators to determine root cause.
• Tests equipment, performs basic electrical troubleshooting, and analyzes electronics problems.
• Trains with contractors or outside representatives as needed.
• Moves, sets up, and arranges workstations or offices.
• Maintains records of repairs and work orders.
• observes safety procedures at all times.
• Participates in emergency response as needed.
• May provide training to less experienced maintenance staff.

Overview

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Maintenance Technician. Under limited supervision and with minimal technical guidance, this position keeps site machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operations. Fabricates or modifies replacement parts. Location: Owatonna, MN.

What you will do

• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments and replaces/repairs defective components or equipment
• Works with programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), Human Interface Modules (HMI’s), etc.
• May collaborate with equipment operators to diagnose equipment breakdowns and determine root cause
• Tests faulty equipment, performs basic electrical troubleshooting, and applies knowledge of electronics and equipment operation to diagnose malfunctions
• Trains with contractors or outside equipment representatives as needed
• Submits purchase order requisitions for parts
• Maintains records of repairs and work orders completed
• Moves and sets up workstations or offices
• Troubleshoots and repairs minor maintenance problems involving facility, electrical, and plumbing
• Participates as part of the emergency response team
• May assist outside emergency response teams
• May provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff
• Observes and complies with company safety procedures at all times

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a First Aid certification

• Preferred 2 year education in a related field

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $25.72 - $42.44 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
