Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a software engineering intern to help build the brains of its fully autonomous driving technology. You will conduct ML modeling experiments, prototype evaluation tools, and write code for Waymo’s simulator and evaluation systems.

The internship offers exposure to robotics, perception, decision-making, and deep learning, with opportunities to collaborate across organizations and enjoy a hybrid work model including remote options.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Interest in autonomous driving, simulation, evaluation, and physical AI.
• Enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in a technical field.
• Proficiency in C++ or Python; ML and statistics foundations.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and accelerated computing.
• Proficiency in SQL; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ML modeling experiments and prototyping to build evaluation tools.
• Write code within Waymo’s simulator and evaluation systems.
