Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a hardworking individual for a full-time 3rd shift role in our manufacturing facility in New York. The position involves 80% production and 20% sanitation, with opportunities for advancement.

Starting pay is $20.75 per hour, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for the 3rd shift, and full-time benefits including health, life, dental, vision, PTO, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age and have 0–1 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment with simple functions.
• Set up and pre-run equipment to ensure proper production startup.
• Control line speeds, batch formula, and production rates while maintaining safety.
• Complete quality checks and document results.
• Clean floors, fixtures, and walls using standard cleaning supplies.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed.
• Follow sanitation schedules and document routine cleaning.
• Use and document chemical concentrations for appropriate applications.
• Pass chemical and sanitation tests to ensure clean equipment and facility.
• Wear PPE as required and follow safety protocols.
• Complete downtime, HACCP, and SOP paperwork as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation of manufacturing equipment with simple functions
• Setting up and pre-running equipment to ensure proper production startup
• Controlling of line speeds, batch formula, production rates, starting and stopping equipment, and overall product elegance and safety
• Completing various quality checks
• This position is responsible for cleaning the floors, fixtures, and walls using standard cleaning supplies as needed to maintain a neat appearance.
• Disassembling and reassembling equipment as directed
• Following sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line
• Using and documenting chemical use to stated concentrations and for appropriate applications
• Verifying and documenting that correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing is complete to deliver equipment and infrastructure that is clean and passes all micro indicator test
• The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots
• Completing all required paperwork (for example: downtime, HACCP, etc., utilizing SAP, SOPs, Safety operation, training, as appropriate)
• Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct
