Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Load paper inserts, promotional materials, or other production materials into designated machine pockets.
  • Prepare materials by jogging, fanning, bending, or separating them to ensure proper machine feeding.
  • Monitor machine operation to identify issues such as skipped, doubled, or incorrectly inserted materials.
  • Clear minor jams and reset equipment as directed.
  • Catch completed products from the production line and organize them into neat bundles.
  • Inspect materials for quality issues, defects, missing pieces, doubles, or skips.

The Machine Feeder is responsible for keeping production equipment supplied with the materials needed to maintain an efficient production flow. This position works as part of a production team and may rotate between duties such as feeding materials into machine pockets, catching finished products, inspecting for quality, bundling, and preparing completed materials for the next stage of production.

Education Requirements

  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Machine Feeder.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, production, or machine experience is preferred but not required.
  • Basic reading, math, and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Dependable with reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
