QPS Employment Group is hiring a Machine Assembly Technician in Waterloo, IA on 1st shift. You will assemble heavy industrial equipment and subassemblies, install mechanical components, and perform precision measurements to ensure proper operation.

Qualified applicants will use hand and power tools, operate cranes, and conduct functional testing while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols. This is an associate-to-hire opportunity with immediate hiring.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembling heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Comfort with using hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Assemble heavy industrial equipment and subassemblies per blueprints and work instructions.
• Install mechanical components including bearings, gears, shafts, motors, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Use hand and power tools, torque wrenches, presses, hoists, and cranes to assemble equipment.
• Measure dimensions and tolerances with calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.
• Perform adjustments and functional testing to meet specifications.
• Maintain production records and quality documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE usage and lockout/tagout.
