Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Machine Assembly Technician in Waterloo, IA. This associate-to-hire opportunity on 1st shift offers a wage of $22.00/hour and a 6:00am-2:30pm schedule.

Responsibilities include assembling heavy industrial equipment per blueprints, installing mechanical components, using hand and power tools, and conducting measurements and tests to ensure proper operation. The role requires safety-first work and precise quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have good manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and work instructions.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Experience with precision measuring tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble heavy industrial equipment and subassemblies per drawings and work instructions.
• Install mechanical components including bearings, gears, shafts, motors, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, presses, hoists, and cranes safely.
• Measure dimensions and tolerances with calipers, micrometers, and gauges; verify alignments and clearances.
• Perform adjustments, alignments, and functional tests; troubleshoot and support engineering changes.
• Maintain production records and quality documentation; follow PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
