Job summary

Second Life Mac in Skokie, IL is hiring an Entry Level Computer Repair Technician (Mac and iPad). You’ll diagnose, repair and refurbish Apple devices, mainly MacBooks and iPads, starting by shadowing teammates and gradually handling more complex repairs.

You’ll work on-site in our warehouse, test devices with Apple diagnostics, replace screens, batteries, keyboards, and ensure quality tests before moving repairs along. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7am–3:30pm with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on repair experience with electronics.
• Comfortable using precision tools and small screws.
• Patient and detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
• Willing to learn and follow processes.

Responsibilities

• Test MacBooks and iPads to diagnose issues using Apple diagnostics.
• Replace common parts like screens, batteries, keyboards, trackpads and ports.
• Disassemble and reassemble devices with proper ESd practices.
• Refurbish devices for resale and run quality checks.
• Log repairs and parts used in tracking system.
• Keep the workbench organized and safe.
