Job summary

Slipstream Life Sciences in South San Francisco is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to provide end-user IT support in a macOS environment. You will deliver high-touch, white-glove service and work with Google Workspace, Windows/AD, and M365 in a regulated biotech setting.

You will manage onboarding/offboarding, administer macOS devices via MDM (Jamf, Kandji), monitor the support queue, and partner with internal teams to maintain secure, productive end-user computing.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Desktop Support or IT Support.
• Experience supporting biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences in regulated environments.
• Hands-on macOS support experience; Apple-focused support preferred.
• Experience administering macOS devices via MDM solutions such as Jamf, Kandji, or similar.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace administration.
• Exposure to Microsoft 5, Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, and virtual desktop environments.
• Strong experience troubleshooting end-user hardware, software, and access-related issues.
• Experience working within a ticketing or IT service management platform.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a high-visibility, high-accountability support environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop and end-user support within a predominantly macOS environment.
• Deliver a high-touch, white-glove support experience with exceptional customer service and communication.
• Troubleshoot and support a mixed technology environment, including macOS, Google Workspace, Windows and Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 with VDI.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including device provisioning, account setup, and access management.
• Administer and support macOS devices through enterprise MDM platforms (Jamf, Kandji, etc.).
• Monitor and manage the IT support queue, ensuring timely resolution of user issues and service requests.
• Provide technical support in a highly visible IT environment where support interactions are shared across the organization.
• Partner with internal teams to maintain a secure, productive, and seamless end-user computing experience.
