LifeStream Behavioral Center in Leesburg, FL is seeking an MA/MS Emergency Evaluator to provide timely assessments and intervention for individuals in behavioral health crises or detoxification needs. The role emphasizes collaborating with families and professionals and ensuring compassionate, evidence-based care.

You will conduct initial and face-to-face assessments, document outcomes, and connect clients with internal or external services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years in emergency mental health evaluation or crisis intervention.
• Experience in behavioral health settings, preferably in emergency services.
• Familiarity with mental health assessment tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face assessments for individuals in crisis.

Job description

Job Purpose:- The MA/MS Emergency Evaluator primarily provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services.Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrates a cooperative attitude to problem solving and conflict resolution with all levels of staff and in all interactions with families and outside professionals.- Documents all contacts and evaluations using established methods and protocol in a timely, legible manner and in accordance with Center policy and procedures.- Ability to successfully complete initial and annual Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) defensive technique training and verbal de-escalation training.- This position performs initial and preliminary assessment of individuals entering LifeStream Behavioral Center’s continuum of services.- Provides face to face assessments to individuals deemed by themselves or others to be in crisis and needing immediate behavioral health treatment.- Assists individuals to obtain services not provided by the Access Center by linking to other programs within LifeStream or referring to professionals outside LifeStream’s array of services when necessary.- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.Required Education:- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.Required Experience:- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency mental health evaluation or crisis intervention.- Experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably in emergency services.- Familiarity with mental health assessment tools and techniques.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and evaluate mental health emergencies effectively.- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.- Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stress situations calmly and efficiently.- Proficient in documentation and record-keeping related to patient evaluations and interventions.- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in mental health care.- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on providing immediate and appropriate interventions.LifeStream BenefitsHealth/Dental/Vision InsuranceShort Term DisabilityPension Plan403(b)Paid Time Off (Over 4 weeks your 1st year!)Flexible Work SchedulesTuition Reimbursement ProgramFree Telehealth ServicesHRSA Loan Forgiveness ProgramAnd More!Important NoticeAs part of our hiring process and in compliance with Section 435.04, Florida Statutes, certain positions require a Level 2 background screening.
