Harrison Gray Search is seeking a project coordination professional to onboard new firms with tech accounts and system access. The role supports software rollouts, training, and transition planning with a focus on people and process, not engineering.
You will work with a team lead and an existing project manager, using established checklists and hands-on training to grow into project management over time. Travel is required for on-site cutovers.
Our client is a fast-growing, majority employee-owned wealth management and financial planning firm that expands through acquisition, bringing on 15 or more firms a year. Every time a new firm joins, its people need new technology accounts, new systems, and a clear point of contact who can make the transition feel organized and human. This role sits on the small internal team that makes that happen.
This is not a help desk job, and it is not an engineering job. It is a project coordination role for someone who is comfortable with technology at a working level, who is genuinely good with people, and who wants exposure to project management without being handed a project manager title on day one. You will work closely with the team lead and an existing project manager, follow established checklists, and get hands on training as you grow into the role.
You do not need to be a systems engineer or a platform engineer, and you will not be happy in this seat if that is the career path you want. What matters more is that you can hold a technical conversation, learn systems quickly, and manage your own tasks reliably under direction from the team lead or project manager. Above all, you genuinely enjoy helping people through a change and you follow through on what you say you will do.
Backgrounds in help desk support, technical support, IT coordination, technology operations, project coordination, implementation, employee onboarding, or another process driven service role tend to translate well. A CAPM or similar certification can help but is not required, and a PMP or deep project management background is more seniority than this role calls for.
This firm is initially focused on candidates within the Rockford, Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee corridor, with a preference for proximity to Rockford, where periodic in person collaboration and equipment prep take place. Daily office attendance is not expected.
Travel is a real part of the job. A typical month includes one on-site technology cutover lasting about four to five days, most often running Thursday through Monday or Tuesday, which means occasional weekend and evening work. Depending on volume, travel can occur more than once a month. All travel is booked through the firm's platform and fully covered.
Interested candidates should apply through Harrison Gray Search & Consulting.
