The Position
A large global company is seeking a mid-level contract M&A attorney with approximately 6-10 years of experience to serve as the legal separation lead for two sizable businesses it is selling.
The attorney will take ownership of the legal work required to disentangle these businesses from the broader corporate organization, working alongside an external advisory team that has developed the separation work plan. The work will include asset transfers, internal stock sales, contributions and distributions, and other corporate and M&A workstreams necessary to execute the separations.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on transactional M&A experience and be comfortable independently driving substantive legal work while also managing the detailed execution required to keep complex transactions moving. More broadly, the legal function handles acquisitions, divestitures, venture investments, and related corporate transactions globally, so candidates should be comfortable operating across the M&A transaction lifecycle.
This is an execution-heavy opportunity in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight turnaround times. The successful attorney will need to be highly responsive, comfortable managing numerous tasks simultaneously, and willing to roll up their sleeves on both sophisticated legal issues and detailed transactional work.
This project starts ASAP, is 6 months with the potential to extend for another 6 months, is remote for ET and CT candidates, and requires 40 hours/week.The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $115and $120. This range is an estimate; an employee's compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
