Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at ARC Wynnewood in Dallas, with full-time days from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will provide total nursing care under guidance of a Registered Nurse to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LVN program or Texas LVN license (or Compact LVN), and current BLS certification. Prior telehealth/additional care coordination experience is preferred; on-site role with direct patient

Qualifications

Must be graduate of accredited LVN program or hold Texas LVN license, or Compact LVN license.
Must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Screens and prioritize patients; ensure timely treatment per physician orders and policies.
Assist with inpatient/clinic coordination and flow of patients including treatments and discharges.
Maintain knowledge of nursing regulations and ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards.
Educate patients and families; participate in community outreach as assigned.
Assist with precepting new staff and students as directed by supervisor.
Complete documentation per procedures; collaborate with team to provide patient-centered care.
Ensure supplies are available for patient care; assist with stocking as needed.
Clean and sterilize patient areas and instruments; maintain healthcare environment.
Identify process improvements to enhance care and customer satisfaction; help set annual goals and monitor outcomes.
Stay current with nursing developments and maintain LVN licensure.
Set up patient appointments and referrals; assist in transporting patients as needed.
