Qualifications

• Minimum twelve months LVN direct patient care within the last three years.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support.
• Extraordinary customer relations and quality service are critical.
• IV certification and blood withdrawal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and coworkers.
• Provides therapeutic patient care within the scope of practice.
• Transcribes orders and follows policy.
• Communicates with a nurse to adjust the care plan.
• Administers medications per orders and standing orders.
• Executes IV therapy and infection control procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment.
• Assists in examinations and treatments, passing instruments as directed.
• Observes patient conditions and reports to nursing staff as needed.
• Performs venipuncture / blood withdrawal with certification.
• Collects specimens and documents care per policy.
• Coordinates discharge processes and promotes patient safety.
