Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care within Correctional Managed Care for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. You will work under supervision to implement care plans and ensure patient safety in a correctional setting.

The role requires a Texas LVN license and current BLS-HP certification, with salary commensurate with experience. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality care to underserved populations.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license as LVN in Texas.
• No experience required.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given.
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Review and, under supervision, modify the plan of care.
• Observe and record signs, symptoms, and patient status; propose revisions.
• Deliver nursing interventions per plan of care.
• Notify staff of changes in patient status; recognize priorities.
• Follow physician’s orders in delivering care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Safely administer medications and treatments.
• Execute physician orders for assigned patients.
• Assemble equipment for procedures and assist others.
