Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking an LVN IV at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center to deliver advanced nursing care and supervise other LVNs. The role collaborates with RNs and the interdisciplinary team to improve health outcomes.

Responsibilities include medication administration, complex procedures, and training new staff, with overtime and extended hours possible. Requires LVN/RN licensure in Texas and preference for experience with intellectually disabled individuals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nursing care standards for complex health needs.
• CPR knowledge and emergency procedures.
• Ability to identify problems and resolve situations with reasoning.
• Computer proficiency with common software applications.
• Record keeping and EHR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly advanced vocational nursing work for residents with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.
• Observe, diagnose, and treat residents’ medical needs, including medication administration and specialized nursing procedures.
• Collect specimens for laboratory examination, conduct screening tests, and monitor vital signs.
• Train, coach, and supervise other LVNs and direct support staff.
• Enroll new LVNs in on‑the‑job training and provide mentorship during orientation.
• Assist RNs in implementing clinical protocols and infection control procedures.
• Lead interdisciplinary collaboration and communicate with team members.
• Respond to emergencies and enforce safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties such as scheduling support and medication variance.
• Participate in disaster response and continuity of operations.
