Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a licensed vocational nurse to provide total nursing care under RN guidance at Jail West Tower. The role is full-time days (6A–6P) with a rotational schedule, serving the assigned patient population in a structured hospital setting.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LVN program, Texas LVN license or compact license, and current BLS certification.

Formación

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing and/or licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as an LVN; or have a valid Compact LVN License.
• Must have current, valid LVN license or temporary LVN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact LVN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.

Responsabilidades

• Screens and prioritizes patients with regard to medical problems, ensuring timely treatment per physician orders.
• Assists with inpatient/clinic coordination and flow of patients as directed by physician and nursing staff.
• Maintains and implements knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, and Joint Commission standards relevant to nursing processes.
• Identifies educational needs of patients and families and reinforces education.
• Assists with precepting new employees and students and documents accordingly.
• Participates in ensuring timely treatment and coordinated workflow across staff and departments.
• Ensures supplies are available for patient care and assists with stocking where needed.
• Cleans and sterilizes patient areas and instruments to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Stays current with nursing developments and licensure requirements; incorporates new knowledge into practice.
• Sets up patient appointments and referrals for further care; assists in patient transport as needed.
