The Ocean House is seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at the Watch Hill location. You will prepare high-quality sushi dishes, following traditional techniques and the restaurant's standards.

Work hours are centered on a busy seasonal schedule; you will maintain a clean workstation, uphold food safety practices, and collaborate with chefs to introduce new menu items while ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in culinary arts preferred.
• Certified completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent culinary accomplishment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of sushi preparation techniques and fish handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute high-quality sushi dishes, including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, following traditional techniques and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation; adhere to sanitation and hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and ensure consistency in presentation and flavor.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Follow instructions to perform necessary prep work of ingredients for use in preparation of all food items.
• Communicate with supervisors and service staff to ensure proper pace of service and quality of food.
