Job summary

Neiman Marcus in New Jersey is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician responsible for the maintenance, repair and general upkeep of building systems in a luxury retail environment. You will address electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, generators, and related equipment, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with the Regional Manager on capital projects, and respond to after-hours calls during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Two to Five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Must have a background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask with self-prioritize work assignments.
• Able to work with others as well as independently and be a self-starter.
• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
• Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on all building equipment and building envelope, with daily/weekly/monthly safety-inspection logs.
• Inspect facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist in managing maintenance expense accounts.
• Assist in the execution of capital planning projects.
• Maintain and coordinate building energy management systems (lighting via Trane Ensemble).
• Support of POS and Telephone systems as needed.
• Assist with kitchen equipment as required.
• Respond to after-hours and emergency calls; overtime may be required.
• Limited time off between Black Friday and January 8.
