Job summary

The Union League Club of Chicago is seeking an Event Planning Manager to drive revenue by booking, planning, and executing group and social events. You will manage all event details from inquiry to completion, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guests.

You will solicit new business, build client relationships, present proposals, and coordinate with Operations to meet timelines, food and beverage minimums, and other contract terms.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Catering Sales or Event planning.
• Experience in a luxury Hotel or Club setting preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing or hospitality management or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage booking, planning and execution of group and social events.
• Solicit new business within assigned catering markets and develop client relationships.
• Develop proposals and contracts, ensuring catering minimums and room requirements.
• Finalize BEOs and publish information weekly for distribution.
• Coordinate with Operations to meet timelines and client expectations.
• Present site tours to promote the Club and participate in sales calls.
• Attend daily meetings to review function details and ensure service standards.
• Handle member/guest complaints professionally and promote a positive team atmosphere.
